You know, I'm often quite picky about anthro art. It seems to me that it requires a certain finesse to achieve anthro art well without looking too unnatural or creepy. I feel your anthro art achieves a splendid balance between human form and behavior, with an overall natural fox appearance. Kind of like a "Werefox", I suppose, but handsome, not grotesque. I love the choice of the blue neckerchief. Job well done (as always!!)
I think of it as being too near "uncanny valley", or when art is ALMOST perfectly realistic, but just isn't realistic enough. Cause it looks almost-human, it creeps out most people.
I'd say, my early anthro art from years ago probably had too many human features in it. I actually did study other artists' works to try to get it right. Anthros aren't just simply animal heads stuck to fuzzy human bodies.
